A Heartwarming Journey to Jamaica: Empowering Youth through Music and Boxing (November 22-26, 2024)

In the heart of the Caribbean, our purpose-driven trip to Jamaica aimed to contribute to the community's betterment, focusing on youth initiatives in education, physical health, and mental well-being through the donation of musical instruments, books, and boxing gloves. By concentrating on self-confidence, education, music, and disciplined minds, the initiative aimed to create a foundation for lasting positive change.

Engaging with the Children: At a local school, the team presented a collection of musical instruments, books, and boxing gloves, offering opportunities for self-expression and personal growth. Music became a universal bridge, connecting people from different corners of the world.  In addition to our impactful donations, we took a hands-on approach by actively engaging with the children through reading sessions. The joyous moments of storytelling not only enriched their educational experience but also fostered a love for reading. This interactive activity aimed to ignite their imagination and instill a lifelong appreciation for literature.

Donation of Boxing Gloves in Trenchtown: Directed towards Trench town, the team collaborated with local organizations to donate boxing gloves, empowering local youth with a positive outlet for their energy in order to support the initiative, “Put down the guns and put up the gloves”. The donation was more than just a material gift; it was a gesture of empowerment, providing the young individuals with a means to channel their energy positively.

Impact and Reflection: The trip left a profound impact, bringing hope and possibility to the children and youth. The universal language of music and sport, combined with the power of community, reflected the journey's success.

Gratitude to Partners: Special thanks to Amy Jacques Community School and Alpha School of Music for their warm welcome, enhancing our initiatives in education, self-esteem, mindfulness and music. We look forward to continued positive change in the communities we serve.

SVG Volcano Disaster Relief!

Thanking all the sponsors for their donations!

NAAUP OF GEORGIA  sends donation to St. Vincent Volcano Disaster Relief! Friday April 9th, 2021 eruption caused a layer of ash to blanket the island of St Vincent  and the Grenadines and led residents  to seek immediate shelter.  Major power outages accompanied with thunder and lightening exacerbated the situation on the ground.  Dormant since 1979, the volcano came alive with a visible lava dome and explosive eruption of ash covering the island.

The aftermath of the La Soufrière volcanic eruption, causes a state of emergency. We are glad that we can lend a helping hand by donating necessities to the residents of St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
